What are post-dated checks?
Post-dated checks are checks written out ahead of time, signed and dated for the future payment date. These are required for monthly payments made by check, and should be included with your initial payment at the time of enrollment.
Can I set up bill payments instead of sending in post-dated checks for my monthly payments?
MODG will accept scheduled bill payments in lieu of post-dated checks, if this is confirmed ahead of time with the billing department. However, there are some things to keep in mind with this:
- All monthly payments are due on the 1st of the month, unless otherwise requested. You will need to schedule your bill payment to arrive at the end of the month prior to the due date of the 1st. For example, if your payment is due September 1st, your bill payment should be scheduled for August 30th or 31st. This way the check is ready for deposit the morning of the 1st.
- Be sure to check your Fee Schedule on the Family Site to confirm your payments. Depending on your LS/TS selections, the monthly payment might be different between semesters. To avoid over or underpaying, please make sure your payments match your fee schedule. (If you have any questions about this, please email billing@modg.org to confirm your payments.)
- Please contact the office to confirm your bill payment arrangement at the time you enroll. This will help avoid unnecessary follow-up, and ensure that your payments are correct.
Can I send a check every month instead of scheduled charges or post-dated checks?
If you would like to avoid monthly charges but don't want to send in post-dated checks, you are welcome to send a check every month ahead of your scheduled charges. MODG still needs to have scheduled charges as backup, but once your payment is received the charge would not be processed. Be sure to contact the office beforehand if this is something you are interested in, so that necessary notes can be made and your billing dates can be arranged accordingly.
